Answered by Admin: Fort Hood policy since 1992 prohibits carrying concealed weapons on base. Privately owned firearms of on post residents must be registered with the soldier's commander and the Directorate of Emergency Services, and stored in the unit arms room. This policy is in accordance with (IAW) AR 190-11 and Fort Hood Regulation 190-11. It applies to all residents of Fort Hood, including all soldiers and civilians. Weapons policy also applies to knives over 3 inches, bows and arrows, and other weapons.
How long is the Fort Hood on post housing waitlist?
Answered by Admin: This varies month to month depending on rank and eligibility date - and weirdly enough, the wait list is generally longer for officers than for enlisted personnel. Contact the housing officer directly for current wait list information. Contact information for Fort Hood on post housing is here.
Answered by Admin: Background - Some Texas counties prohibit sale of alcohol, others allow it. Killeen is in Bell County, which is a mixed sales county. Beer and possibly other low-alcohol drink sales are allowed.
